Apparently last year Focus on the Family launched an initiative to turn October 8 into "Bring Your Bible to School Day".  Across the U.S., hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren from kindergarten through college brought their Bibles to school or class to show how proud they are of their Christian faith and stand up for their freedom of expression.

I wonder if they honestly think Bibles aren't allowed in public schools.  Because -news flash- they are.  Teachers can even use the Bible as an example of literature.  In public schools, the only things not allowed are for teachers to teach it as fact or to lead students in prayer.  Students can pray, given they are not causing disruption.

By the way, culture crusaders, one of your own predicted the world was going to end October 7, 2015.

How's that working out?

LOOOOOOOONG post from long ago but I recall hearing this when I was with my asshole conservative step-dad as we was listening to conservative radio. There's no law against bringing any sort of books to a public school. You might only raise eye brows if you bring something in like Mein Kampf or the Communist manifesto or the Doctrines of Fascism.
